Random Thoughts

This page will contain my random thoughts and any odd, weird, or unusual items I find.

So yesterday I said NBC had it sown up with their line up of Chuck, Heroes, and Journeyman, was I correct?

Chuck was awesome, if they can keep up the quality of show that I saw last night; Chuck is going to be a great hit. There was not one moment that the story felt rushed, pinched, or bogged. The show hit it on all cylinders, it was a great view. It was nail biting, edge of seat at times, adrenaline pumping at others, and out right hilarious at the right times. Chuck has the formula dialed in perfectly. I can't wait to see more of this show.

Heroes was decent. Heroes is Heroes and after the great first season I will defiantly keep watching to see where season 2 goes but I was a little disappointed in last nights season 2 opening. I think the season 2 opener would have gone better as a 2 hour slot. The whole episode last night felt rushed and it jumped back and forth and revealed so much information and detail in so short of a time, even with limited commercials, that it left you feeling like you had just scarfed a whole gourmet meal but didn't have time to actually get to taste or enjoy it.

Journeyman, ohh... Journeyman. Forty minutes into the show I was ready to write off the show as being a total loss. They redeemed themselves in last 20 minutes but I don't think it will be enough. This was another show that suffered from being squeezed into just an hour opening. The story has you jumping back and forth through time so often and quickly in the first 40 minutes it almost leaves you with motion sickness. The last 20 minutes you finally get the hang of the time switch gimmick and they finally add a unique twist to the story that until that point had been generic and bland. I'm afraid though that it is to little to late. My prediction is this show won't last beyond one season and may even be a candidate for early closure. The scenes from future episodes and the ending of last night's show left me feeling that the story/show still has potential and may actually be a good show but first impressions, especially in an already crowded fall lineup are vital, and Journeyman came out swinging and missing for most of their opening night.
